The Telegraph wrote about the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, presenting the recent events in Tavush and the residents’ concerns over the border delimitation process. As noted, the delimitation process that Pashinyan is now trying to sell to Armenians, is supposed to fix the border. However, the people who talked to the newspaper noted that they feel humiliated and do not believe that Azerbaijan will keep its side of the bargain, and return the Armenian territories that it has occupied.
The newspaper noted that in the past week, the police in Yerevan arrested dozens of people protesting against land cession. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the primate of the Diocese of Tavush, has been campaigning against the border transfer as well. His sight has clearly buoyed up distressed villagers, who, however, refused to give their names to The Telegraph as they were “angry and frightened”.
“My house will be right next to the border. I don’t know how my children will be able to live there as they know their uncle was killed by Azeris in the war in 2020,” one of the residents noted.
