The 2 other helicopters landed, but the presidential one did not: Iranologist on accident with Iranian president
The helicopter carrying the president of Iran vanished from the radar screens in the north of the country, in the forested mountainous region of Arasbaran in East Atrpatakan [Azerbaijan] province, Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan wrote on his Telegram Channel.
“Iranian sources talk about the helicopter’s possible hard landing due to poor weather conditions and fog, but it is clear that so far it has not been found out what caused the disaster, because the rescuers have not yet managed to come into contact with the helicopter and reach the crash site.
Besides the president, other high-ranking officials were on board the helicopter, in particular Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The helicopter carrying the president of Iran, along with two other helicopters, took flight in the Aras Valley, where the Khoda Afarin Dam was opened with the artificial state of Azerbaijan after years of construction.
The other two helicopters in the convoy safely reached their destination; a problem arose only with the presidential helicopter,” Voskanyan wrote.
