The arrest of the mayor of Askeran is absolutely illegal. Former Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia Arman Tatoyan said this in a facebook post.
“What do the authorities of Armenia have to do with matters of property management entrusted to Artsakh officials by the Republic of Artsakh?
Wasn’t it you who gave up Artsakh?” Tatoyan wrote.
