Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan: I asked His Holiness for the suspension of my 30-year service as I cannot combine it with my candidacy for prime minister
I have never, under any circumstances, avoided responsibility; in case of mistakes, I have acknowledged them, trying to rectify them or leave—in case of a good result to spread it to the people around me, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said during the rally.
During discussions with His Holiness regarding my candidacy for prime minister, we concluded that my being a candidate for prime minister and my spiritual service cannot be combined. Thus, I asked for the suspension of my 30-year service, taking personal responsibility for this process. This is a personal decision, considering all the sacrifice, the non-expectation, that I am ready to make for my homeland, for my state.
I said that my spiritual calling is more than any position; this is simply the required sacrifice, without which nothing can change in our lives; therefore, everyone is supposed to make that sacrifice within this movement,” he said.
