Russian press: The EU, which supports Pashinyan, does not care about the troubled streets of Yerevan

Armenia has recently adopted a clear line of taking itself off from Moscow and announced its desire to join the EU, NTV TV channel said in a report.

As reported, Brussels is clearly in favor of the European line taken by Armenia. At the moment, the streets in Yerevan are also restless. However, it does not bother the EU, unlike the riots in Georgia.

“Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the leader of the protests, behaves like a rock star in any situation. He already has a trademark color: blue smoke bombs are let loose during his rallies,” the report said.

It was noted that Brussels and Washington are happy with the present authorities of Armenia and tacitly support them, because Pashinyan made a necessary turn from Moscow when it became clear that the conflict with Azerbaijan had prospects of ending, and Russia, which acted as a guarantor of security in Karabakh was no longer needed in that regard.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta wrote that a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan may be concluded in Baku within the framework of the 2024 U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP29). The sides still need to agree on several points. However, it cannot be excluded that the document is almost ready. Nevertheless, in an interview to the news agency, experts were cautious about the prospects of peace in the near future.
