Syunik governor says Azerbaijani troops will withdraw from Syunik’s occupied territories when border delimitation begins

Russian border guards have left Nerkin Hand in Syunik Province, Governor of Syunik Province Robert Ghukasyan told the press.

“They left the positions where they had been stationed after the 44-day war. They left Nerkin Hand as well. Now there are no Russian border guards there,” he said.

Journalists tried to find out from the governor whether he has any information about the possible border delimitation and demarcation process in Syunik Province, but Ghukasyan simply stated that the process has not yet started there.

He noted that the map of 1976 is on the table. According to him, the Azerbaijani troops will leave the areas they have occupied.
