The enormous damage caused by the disaster: Part 2
Enormous damage, including financial ones, which cannot be assessed yet; a part of it is not even visible yet. Streets, houses, shops, workshops and studios covered with sludge; dead animals whose bodies remain outside, causing danger of an epidemic in the disaster area.
ABC Media’s camera crew was in Lori, documenting the consequences of the disaster and the hard work done by rescue workers.
Rescuers were with the residents from the first minutes of the disaster. First, they helped them move to a safer place; then they helped remove water from basements and apartments and delivered food and necessities to the residents of the settlements cut off from the main roads.
