At a press briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova referred to the EU Mission in Armenia, calling it paramilitary.
“There is no need to look for evidence. It is obvious. The anti-Russian, anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Iranian goals of that mission are becoming more and more obvious.
When NATO countries started joining it, everything became clearer.
Apart from the destabilization of the military-political situation and the turning of the region into another stage of geopolitical competition, nothing should be expected from such EU initiatives. There was a chance to stabilize the situation, resolve the long-standing crisis, and develop the economy. There was every opportunity; hard work was being done, which was already showing results; but it caused the discontent of the West,” Zakharova noted.
According to her, regional issues can and should be settled by the joint efforts of regional states.
