Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan: The right is often more important than the law
This movement is aimed for more than a change of power; it is a movement having civilisational meaning, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said in response to Nezavisimaya Gazeta’s question as to how he is planning to become the leader of Armenia, considering his Canadian citizenship and the lack of votes in the National Assembly for impeachment.
“For us, it is not about taking power; this is more than that. This is a movement aimed to make changes in people’s lives, values, public perception, and behavior. Yes, we will do our best so that everything will be legal, respecting the law, but we should not forget that while respecting the power of the law, the right is often more important than the law. This is a popular movement, and that movement, with all the criteria I mentioned, will reach its logical conclusion. Our Lord also says that the law was made for man, not man for the law,” he noted.
