Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the statement made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the country’s withdrawal from the CSTO.
“As I recall, not so long ago, the current political leaders announced that it was the CSTO that had left Armenia. I would like to find out if the CSTO has already returned to Armenia for them to be able to leave it. It seems to me that this wordplay is undignified and cheap. There are strategic interests of the state; there are problems that the region has not yet managed to say goodbye to. This is what we need to think about: security, strategic cooperation, stability in that region, the development of that region,” Zakharova noted, adding that the South Caucasus has everything to become part of a multi-centered world.
