The procedure for Armenia’s withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was not discussed at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the association, as no relevant request had been received, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the press after the meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers. In response to the question about the possible consequences of Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO, Lavrov said: “Guessing is not a common practice in diplomacy. Yes, today the Armenian minister was not present at the meeting, but there was no document, no official step from Armenia, which would make it necessary to discuss the consequences of something that did not happen.”
