3-day mourning declared in Dagestan 

A three-day mourning has been declared in Dagestan in connection with the attacks carried out by militants in Makhachkala and Derbent. As Izvestiya reports, the press service of the Head of the Republic of Dagestan said.

“June 24, 25 and 26 have been declared days of mourning in Dagestan. On the days of mourning, national flags will be lowered in the country,” the press service said.

Cultural institutions and TV and radio companies located in the territory of Dagestan will cancel all entertainment events and programs.

The government of Dagestan has been instructed to take necessary measures to provide assistance to the families of the dead and the injured.

To remind, on June 23, armed militants attacked two Orthodox churches, a synagogue and a traffic police station in Derbent and Makhachkala. Twenty people were killed, 17 of them law enforcement officers.
