In response to the accusations and threats of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev against France and Armenian-French military cooperation, Lead Spokesperson for the External Affairs of the EU Peter Stano noted that the history of the EU shows that the building of trust between countries after a long period of conflict requires time, understanding and patience.
In response to the question of Armenpress’s correspondent in Brussels, Stano reaffirmed the EU’s readiness to support the peace process.
“It is the sovereign right of Armenia to choose its security and defense partners. The EU continues to support all efforts to achieve progress in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and encourages decisive steps to achieve sustainable and lasting peace in the region,” Stano said.
