Lebedev: The West puts pressure on Yerevan, encouraging them in some cases to take an anti-Russian stance or limit their cooperation within the CIS
Western countries are putting pressure on Yerevan, in some cases pushing it to take an anti-Russian stance and also to reduce cooperation in the CIS, but this primarily harms Armenia, CIS General Secretary Sergey Lebedev told the press within the framework of the 10th Annual International Forum “Primakov Readings”.
“I see huge Western pressure on Armenian partners, encouraging them in some cases to take an anti-Russian stance or limit their cooperation within the CIS. I regret to note that Armenia has recently stopped participating in many forums of the CIS countries. In my opinion, it is bad. It is bad for the CIS. As the general secretary, I note that many experts admit that it is bad for Armenia as well,” Lebedev stated, noting that he does not yet see any sign of Armenia leaving the CIS.
