India considering new batch of military equipment to Armenia
India considers supplying a fresh batch of military
equipment to Armenia. As Armenpress reports, The Economic Times wrote
this.
“India is mulling over supplying a fresh batch of military
equipment to Armenia, its strategic ally in Caucasus, after the successful
delivery of the first batch of weapons over the past year,” The Economic Times
writes.
As noted, a senior Armenian official visited Delhi recently
and held discussions in this regard. India has emerged as a credible weapons
supplier as per Armenia’s requirements.
Details on the new supplies have not been provided yet.
However, as the newspaper writes, the Armenians — who wished to remain
anonymous — said that the new batch may include equipment that will act as a
deterrent in a conflict with Azerbaijan.
The latest batch of armaments that India supplied to
Armenia, included Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles,
rockets and ammunition.
