Riots broke out in France after the preliminary results of the first round of the snap parliamentary election were announced. Mass protests took place in Place de la République (Paris Republic Square).
Dissatisfied with the leadership of the National Rally party, the protesters chanted anti-fascist slogans. In Lyon, the protesters broke windows while the police used tear gas against them.
