In the US, they are literally encouraging the incitement of hatred against political opponents: Zakharova’s reaction to assassination attempt against Trump
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova talked about the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, formerly a U.S. president and currently a presidential candidate.
“An assassination attempt was carried out against Trump.
Exactly two months ago, I drew attention to the fact that in the U.S. they are literally encouraging the incitement of hatred against political opponents and also cited examples from the American practice of presidents’ and presidential candidates’ assassinations,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
She made a post, questioning why anyone in the West who defends democracy, the rule of law, and human rights is not paying attention to the fact that there are overt statements in the U.S. “about the need to kill the presidential candidate, the former president of the country, Donald Trump.” Zakharova wrote this in response to the “ridiculous debate” over the legality of elections, inauguration, government appointments and other constitutional procedures in Russia.
At the same time, Zakharova published a list of assassinations and attempts of assassination against U.S. presidents made in different periods of the country’s history.
