At a press briefing, Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Vedant Patel referred to the visit of Louis Bono, the special advisor on the Armenia-Azerbaijan issue, to the region. He noted that both the secretary of state and Coordinator Bono continue to be deeply engaged in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. “We’re going to continue to work toward it,” Patel said.
Answering the journalists’ question about the upcoming meeting between Armenian and Turkish diplomats, the representative of the State Department stated that he cannot predict anything. “Again, just saying that this is something that the Secretary has been focused on, and we’ll continue to be deeply engaged on it,” Patel said.
