After the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, Hezbollah launched several rockets toward Israel, and it was clear in the case of this country that these actions were connected, Arab expert Armen Petrosyan said in a conversation with ABC media.
“Of course, it was not a final response. Hezbollah has been actively engaged in military operations since October, when the war broke out, regularly targeting the territory of Israel, to which Israel responds. However, let us note that Israel is looking for a very serious opportunity to carry out a military operation in Lebanon, as it is carrying out in Gaza. They are very well aware of it both in Iran and Lebanon,” the expert said.
Speaking about the response by Lebanon and Iran, Petrosyan noted that it should be based on such a logic that it does not lead to a large-scale war.
“Israel does not want to end hostilities and is doing its best to keep the fire going as long as it can,” Petrosyan said.
