Erdogan meets Mahmoud Abbas
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The meeting was a closed one.
The parties discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the steps toward establishing a permanent ceasefire and peace, and also current developments.
Erdogan noted that Turkey will continue to work on increasing international pressure on Israel in support of the Palestinian people.
Abbas‘s speech is planned in the Turkish Parliament to show the strong support of the Turkish Parliament to Palestinians and their cause, as well as to convey the voice of the oppressed Palestinian people to the international community.
Before that, a meeting with Numan Kurtulmus, the speaker of the Turkish Parliament, is also planned.
