Armenia’s turn toward the West and its turning away from Russia cause growing disagreements between Yerevan and not only Moscow, but also Minsk, Deutsche Welle writes.
The diplomatic crisis between Yerevan and Minsk arose immediately after Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Azerbaijan in May of this year, where he, being an ally of Armenia, made a number of statements that actually endorsed Baku’s actions in Artsakh.
Meanwhile, despite the apparent crisis in Yerevan-Minsk relations, experts do not foresee further deterioration of relations, as they are not that important for both sides, both economically and geopolitically. Trade and economic ties between the countries, despite their existence in the same economic bloc, i.e., the Eurasian Economic Union, are minute.
