The churches of Russia and Armenia should maintain friendly relations in order to strengthen positive relations between the states, including for the quick resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, the leader of the Shirak Diocese of Armenia, told Izvestiya.
According to him, the events taking place around the Orthodox Church of Ukraine are of great concern to him. Ajapahyan hopes that the conflict in Ukraine will end in the near future, so that the misunderstanding will be transformed and become an impetus for the development of relations between Armenia and Russia.
“There are always disagreements, even in the church, in the church itself; but all this is resolved peacefully and in an unnoticed way,” he noted.
