Two years ago on this day, Azerbaijan attacked the sovereign territory of Armenia in different directions, as a result of which a number of tactical and strategic parts and high grounds of our country came under Azerbaijani control, MP Tigran Abrahamyan wrote.
“Thus, Azerbaijan not only gained great military advantage, but also got the opportunity to act during negotiations from a completely different, beneficial position for itself.
The direction of the Azerbaijani offensive was not accidental. Thus, they got the opportunity not only to deploy effective defense structures in the most favorable areas and to gain control over important infrastructure in Armenia, but in the case of possible offensive operations, to get big starting opportunities.
As a result of that attack, Armenia suffered over 200 casualties.
“The heavy consequences of that Azerbaijani aggression also lie at the basis of the conceding, defeatist policy of the Armenian authorities,” Abrahamyan wrote.
