Political retaliation and false accusations: Why was Gasparyan dismissed from YSU?
Everything started when lecturers with oppositional political views were dismissed from Yerevan State University or relieved of some classes, including Menua Soghomyan, Abraham Gasparyan, Astghik Avetisyan, Khachik Galstyan and others. For this decision to be justified and not seen as a political persecution, one of the government media outlets published the mark book of Abraham Gasparyan, candidate of political sciences and associate professor, as proof of his absence from classes. It shows that Gasparyan did not show up for classes for about two months, which served as the basis for his expulsion from the university.
