Washington always looks for opportunities to convene the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller said at a press briefing, answering the journalist’s question as to whether U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is hoping to put together another meeting in New York. The journalist also reminded Miller that Blinken spoke with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev last week.
Miller noted that Washington continues to support the efforts of Yerevan and Baku to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement.
“They have made significant progress towards finalizing a peace agreement, and we’re committed to supporting them in any way that we can, including convening a meeting if that’s helpful,” Miller said.
