Hearings on ethnic cleansing and cultural heritage in Artsakh to be held in US
Hearings about the ethnic and religious cleansing of Artsakh will be held today at the U.S. Capitol Hill Club. This event is a platform that will allow survivors, experts and advocates to share witness testimony and significant evidence regarding the atrocities committed against Armenian Christians, including forced displacement, cultural and religious erasure, and violence.
Additionally, the event will address the broader national security implications of the U.S., highlighting the strategic importance of stability in the Caucasus.
It will discuss how ongoing conflicts and human rights abuses can lead to regional instability, which may affect global security interests, including energy security, counter-terrorism efforts and the geopolitical balance of power. Through this multi-layered approach, the event aims to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the current situation and its far-reaching implications, urging policymakers to take decisive action.
The event will also look at opportunities for relations with the U.S. and how the two can build on recent positive geopolitical developments in the coming years to ensure Armenia’s security and the survival of Armenian Christian heritage.
