The Azokh Cave of Hadrut Province is of a high archaeological value, which Azerbaijan does not protect properly. The international community should pay attention to this issue, Human rights defender Siranush Sahakyan said today at a conference titled “One Year Without Artsakh: Statistics and Strategic Perspectives”. The conference has been organized on the initiative of Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation.
“That cave is an important archeological cave, which is now under the control of Baku. Baku also controls the samples that were excavated years ago, thanks to the work of British organizations. During research and statistics, the archaeologically important cave for human history should be kept in the center of attention,” Sahakyan said.
According to her, after the seizure, the cave has not been properly preserved.
