Abraham Gasparyan: Without the resolution of the Artsakh conflict, there will be no long-term peace in the South Caucasus, and the Artsakh conflict has not been resolved

Abraham Gasparyan: Without the resolution of the Artsakh conflict, there will be no long-term peace in the South Caucasus, and the Artsakh conflict has not been resolved

It was supposed that the June 12 chain of violence of the police state should have depressed us, that we should have left the ranks, but those people never understood that the people always keeping the slogan “Armenians, Armenia, Homeland and God” in their souls, minds and hearts will never kneel down, Founding Director of Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Abraham Gasparyan said in his speech at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.

Gasparyan noted that since March, the Holy Struggle has had three ideological pillars: Armenian statehood, national identity and preservation of national dignity.

“Here is the answer to the question as to why the Holy Struggle must necessarily be crowned with success, because the continuity of our statehood, preservation of Armenian identity, and preservation of national dignity are and continue to be priorities for us,” Gasparyan said.

He noted that the struggle is not solely about getting rid of the regime that has “metastasized” and has become evil for the Armenian identity. “The main struggle will begin after we have overthrown this evil. That’s when it will be seen how ready we are to have a free, truly independent, non-illusory, safe and sovereign state,” he said, adding that the change of power is just a way to build the Armenia that is acceptable to us.

Speaking about the issue of Artsakh, Gasparyan noted that the boys resting in Yerablur have just one message: Keep Artsakh strong.

“The issue of Artsakh has not been settled. In the South Caucasus, in the Greater Middle East, without a fair solution to the Artsakh issue, there will be neither long-term stability nor comprehensive peace. If there is no Artsakh, if there are no Armenians living in Artsakh, the South Caucasus will dream of peace for a long time,” Gasparyan said.

According to the political scientist, Artsakh is not only one of the main components of the genetic code and national identity of the Armenian people, but also the trial of all those disenfranchised peoples who have been fighting for their free and fair cause for centuries.

“Artsakh was the security shield of Armenia and the Armenian people, and after ousting this government, we will have to work day and night so that Artsakh will become Armenian and populated with Armenians again,” Gasparyan said.
