Georgia welcomes the process of peaceful normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and offers the two countries a format of regional cooperation to that end, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the 79th session of the U.N. General Assembly.
“Aware of the significance of peace, we have played a leading role in efforts to transform the South Caucasus region from a region of conflict to a region of opportunity.
We welcome the peaceful settlement process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, especially the efforts aimed at the normalization of relations with neighboring countries.
We want to provide a regional cooperation format that supports cooperation and trust building between countries to ensure that differences remain in the past and the resources and advantages of the region are offered to the world,” Kobakhidze stated.
