U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken believes that the peace treaty will contribute to the growth of stability and prosperity in the region, Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller said after the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in New York with the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“Secretary Blinken highly appreciated the progress achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan toward a lasting and dignified peace,” Miller noted.
He added that Blinken encouraged the two countries to continue their efforts to finalize the agreement as soon as possible.
Earlier, we reported that, as a result of the meeting in New York, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to invest additional efforts in concluding an agreement “On peace and the establishment of interstate relations” in the shortest time possible.
