Hezbollah’s Executive Council has elected Hashim Safi Al Din as the new secretary general, Al Arabiya reports.
He is the cousin of the murdered Hassan Nasrallah. In 2017, he was included in the list of terrorists compiled by the U.S. Department of State.
Earlier, he held the position of the head of the executive board of the movement.
