Shahan Gantaharyan: There is still no problem with food and medicine in Lebanon, but the situation is worrying
Israeli operations continue; active operations are now taking place along the border. Shahan Gantaharyan, the editor-in-chief of Lebanese newspaper Azdak, told ABC media.
“Israel continues to attack different parts of Lebanon with drones; they are unexpected and regular. It is clear from their actions that they are seeking invasion. Israel is also trying to force Hezbollah to withdraw its troops, while it has clearly stated that it will not do so. They noted that they are ready to resist the attacks,” Gantaharyan said.
According to him, only local airports are operating in bombed parts of Lebanon; others have canceled flights. Gantaharyan recalled Israel’s threat to Iran, according to which they are ready to attack Iranian planes because they think they are transporting weapons to Lebanon.
“In other words, Israel wants to say that it controls both land areas and airspace,” Gantaharyan said.
There are non-Lebanese circles that are not in favor of Hezbollah’s participation in the war against Israel, but after the assassination of the head of this military organization, there is a general consensus on solidarity and unity.
“After the secretary general’s murder, residents are more restrained and understand that there should not be internal rifts. Without that, a crisis situation has arisen in the country; there are many humanitarian problems, thousands of displaced people,” Gantaharyan said.
He noted that there is still no problem with food or medicine in Lebanon, but the situation is worrying.
