Aliyev blames US and France and threatens Armenia

Sixty pro-Armenian members of the U.S. Congress have appealed to the U.S. government to impose additional sanctions against Azerbaijan.

“Reading this statement, I realized that the author and the addressee are the same. I have no doubt that this appeal was written in the State Department. In other words, they write letters, then threaten us, and accuse us,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

Continuing his criticism of the West, he said: “They cannot forgive Azerbaijan as it restored its rights without their permission. First, U.S. sanctions are imposed against Azerbaijan, then they ask to strengthen our friendship.”

France also suffered, which “together with other Western countries tried to force a humiliating peace on Azerbaijan”, Aliyev said.

In conclusion, he once again threatened Armenia “involved in dangerous games” and called on it “not to forget the results of the Second Karabakh War” and the “anti-terror operation.”
