The ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party will resume the process of impeachment against President Salome Zourabichvili, the Georgian media writes, referring to Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili.
This decision is connected with the visits of the country’s president to France, Germany, Belgium and Poland, which had to have been agreed upon with the government according to the Constitution of Georgia. In October last year, the Constitutional Court confirmed the president’s violation of the main law of the country due to her unauthorized visits abroad, but the ruling party was not able to gather enough votes for impeachment.
