Aide to Russia’s president says what CIS leaders will  discuss

Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the CIS summit in Moscow today. He will also have bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The heads of the CIS countries started their contacts on Monday evening in an informal environment. As Aide to the President of Russia for Foreign Policy Yuri Ushakov stated earlier, such a format, which envisages a free discussion, has proven its effectiveness.

Speaking about the official part of the summit, Ushakov said it will include small and extended meetings, as well as a document conclusion ceremony.

According to him, the participants of the meeting in a narrow format will exchange ideas on interaction within the framework of the CIS.

In addition, the heads of state will discuss the issue of Tajikistan’s presidency in the CIS in 2025. A total of 14 issues will be discussed by the CIS leaders.

In particular, this year the heads of state will summarize the development of cooperation, define the main issues for 2025, discuss current international and regional issues, as well as steps to improve the efficiency of the organization, its executive structures and industry.

“In addition, it is planned to adopt a number of documents in the fields of security and law enforcement,” Ushakov added.
