Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
On the Russian side, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Energy Sergey Lavrov and Sergey Tsivilev, Aide to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov and Press Secretary for Russian President Dmitry Peskov took part in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Russian Federation noted that he had already discussed bilateral relations with his counterpart.
According to him, relations between the two countries are developing positively.
Putin added that he is waiting for Aliyev at the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan at the end of October.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the joint projects between Russia and Azerbaijan promising, saying that “all of them are real and active.”
Aliyev, in turn, noted that Baku sees noticeable dynamics in Azerbaijani-Russian relations after Putin’s official visit to Azerbaijan.
