Overchuk: Armenia is not officially withdrawing its signature from the tripartite statement
Armenia is not officially withdrawing its signature from the tripartite statement, which was signed in 2020 by Moscow, Baku and Yerevan and contributed to the establishment of a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the same time, no progress has been made within the tripartite working group on unblocking communication links in the region for about a year and a half, TASS reports, citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
“Armenia does not officially withdraw from the tripartite statement and does not withdraw its signature, but at the same time, there has been almost no progress within the framework of the tripartite working group at the level of deputy prime ministers for two years, or, let’s say, at least a year and a half since last summer,” Overchuk noted.
At the same time, according to the official, the unblocking of economic and transport corridors in the region is “possible only with the participation of Russia.”
