The peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan should
guarantee that the security and the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh will be
ensured. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said this in his
interview with RBC.
“We proceed from the necessity to clearly define in the
peace treaty how the rights and the security of the Armenian population of
Karabakh will be ensured. With this regard, we have presented the sides with
certain ideas,” Galuzin said.
He noted that certain mechanisms are needed to facilitate
the further implementation of the provisions of the peace treaty. “We need to
find a mechanism that will not undermine the sovereignty and independence of
Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Russian diplomat said.
