Ruben Mkhitaryan: There are many problems beyond the visible part of Gyumri, and we will address them
Residents of Gyumri have numerous grievances and problems, as many issues arise once you move away from the constructed part of the city, Ruben Mkhitaryan, a candidate for mayor of Gyumri, told ABC media.
“We hear people’s concerns and are gathering them. There are dozens of specific issues on every street that require solutions and attention. Of course, there are people who say, ‘Promise us that you will do what you say.’ We explain to everyone that we can’t promise anything at this moment, but starting from March 30, we will meticulously study all the issues, and nothing will be left without attention and a proper solution,” Mkhitaryan said.
According to the mayoral candidate, there are streets that need playgrounds, and residents are complaining about stray animals; there are issues related to greening and waste management.
“People in this neighborhood were talking about effective governance. They said they want someone who understands the job, who has managed large agencies, and who has an understanding of the city and its infrastructure. In this street, there is a family living under inhumane conditions; they have the status of homelessness. The city hall has said, ‘We will help you come out of homelessness,’ but they haven’t offered a concrete solution. The family said they reached out to acting Mayor Sarik Minasyan, who responded, ‘If you elect us, we will remove you from the status of homelessness,'” Mkrtchyan noted.
