Rector and vice-rector of Pedagogical University arrested
The rector and vice-rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University have been arrested as part of a criminal case led by the Anti-Corruption Committee, the committee told ABC Media.
They are accused of forming and leading a criminal organization made up of several university employees, as well as embezzlement, fraud, and accepting bribes in particularly large amounts.
Several other university staff members have also been detained within the same case.
Earlier, the university’s spokesperson Diana Markosyan told ABC Media that certain actions were being carried out at the institution as part of an investigation, and that the rector held the status of a witness at the time.
