The National Security Service (NSS) arrested Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan at the Investigative Committee building, lawyer Arsen Babayan wrote on Facebook.

A few days ago, during a press conference, Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan addressed the topic of suspending his duties, stating that at that time he saw no need to halt his service.

When asked why he was specifically targeted by the authorities, he replied: “They will not target intellectuals or figures they like. The authorities target all those who speak out against them.”
