Samvel Karapetyan placed under house arrest again

After a 14-hour court hearing involving the defense team, another decision has been made in the case of Samvel Karapetyan. The motion to impose pretrial detention as a preventive measure was rejected, and house arrest was applied instead, according to Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the businessman’s legal team.

“This is yet another intensive preventive measure. Notably, the restriction on Samvel Karapetyan’s public statements has been lifted. Freedom to all political prisoners,” Vardevanyan said.

He also noted that the 14-hour-long hearing was interrupted for only 30 minutes.
