30 families affected in explosion in Nor Aresh

About 30 families have been affected by the explosion on Nor Aresh Street in Erebuni District, Yerevan. Artur Osipyan, adviser to the head of the administrative region, said this to ABC media.

“Currently, we keep working. There is still no exact number on how many people have been affected in the explosion, but according to early reports, I can say that 30 families have been affected. The windows and roofs of some houses have been damaged. There are even buildings located a few meters away that were partially destroyed,” Osipyan said.

According to him, the social department of the administrative district is working to address the needs of the affected residents.

“In case of issues that are relatively easy to deal with, we try to settle them on the spot. People who have lost their homes in the explosion, mostly find shelter in their relatives’ houses. No one is left without shelter,” he said.

According to Osipyan, the municipality is also engaged in providing assistance to the victims. This is a matter of high expenses, the official says and notes, “We are taking inventory now, and at the end of the day, we will have a clear picture.”

To remind, at 11:36 a.m. yesterday, an explosion took place at 34 Nor Aresh Street in Erebuni District, Yerevan. As a result, two people died, and two were injured.
