Armenian history textbook for 7th grade to be authored by Smbat Hovhannisyan? Explanation

ABC Media has received information that Smbat Hovhannisyan, the author of the textbook of Armenian history for the 7th grade, has applied to the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to write the new textbook of Armenian history for the 8th grade.

 

We tried to check the information from Smbat Hovhannisyan, but our question made him angry. “The news… I can’t get what you’re saying. Why are you interested in that? You have received news, let it be as it is… Goodbye,” Hovhannisyan said.

 

To remind, the textbook of Armenian history for the 7th grade, authored by Smbat Hovhannisyan, caused quite a stir and came under public and expert criticism. Parents even filed a lawsuit against RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan. Parents demand that the textbook be removed from the syllabus.
