The Government has decided to allocate 15 million, 700 thousand drams to the History Museum of Armenia for the “Mother Deities: From Anahit to Mariam” temporary exhibition.
“The preserved head and hand from the famous bronze statue attributed to the goddess Anahit, on permanent exhibition at the British Museum, will be displayed in Armenia along with various exhibits that are related to the theme of motherhood and belong to different periods in history. This is an important event, which the public is surely waiting for,” Zhanna Andreasyan, the minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, said.
The exhibition is due to open on Sept. 21, 2024, within the framework of the Independence Day celebrations.
