US wishing to lease ‘Zangezur Corridor’ for 100 years
The U.S. has proposed taking control of the transport corridor planned between Armenia and Azerbaijan to advance the prolonged diplomatic negotiations between the two Caucasian countries, Middle East Eye writes, referring to U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack.
Although Armenia and Azerbaijan reached an agreement in March on a draft peace treaty, Baku continues to insist on several additional conditions before officially signing the agreement.
Barrack also stated that the U.S. wants to lease the 32-kilometer-long road for a hundred years.
