Deputy police chief unaware why Voskepar church area closed

The deputy chief of police told the primate of the Diocese of Tavush, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, that he did not know why the police built a wall near the church of Voskepar village in Tavush and did not allow the residents to enter the church.

“We don’t know anything; we are conducting operations; we have no other information; we have been told to protect the area and ensure security, thus we are conducting operations,” the deputy chief of police said.

Archbishop Bagrat, in turn, said the authorities are trying to make the administrative heads of the villages accomplices. “If we fail to win, then we are renegades like everyone else,” the primate of the Diocese of Tavush concluded.
