By disobedience we should prevent the destructive process: Hayakve blocks Odzun-Alaverdi road

The Hayakve initiative has closed the road from Odzun to Alaverdi, demanding that any process of withdrawal of troops from the contact line be stopped, political scientist Menua Soghomonyan, a member of the Hayakve initiative, told ABC media.

“As long as we do not have a peace treaty, ratified by the National Assembly and approved by Article 205 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, under that very article, the borders of the Republic of Armenia cannot be changed without a referendum. In addition, we consider any withdrawal or movement of troops unacceptable. One of the goals of our protest is to inform the residents and call on them to disobey this destructive process,” Soghomonyan said.

Besides the protest initiators, there are residents there who have joined them from Yerevan and neighboring villages.

“We do not plan to stage a long protest. It will probably end today,” the political scientist said.
