
Earthquake in Iranian-Azerbaijani border zone also felt in Armenia
The “Seismic Protection Territorial Survey” of the RA
Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that at 9:18 a.m. on Nov. 8, an
earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale occurred. The earthquake happened
in the border zone between Azerbaijan and Iran, 21 km southeast of Parsabad
city. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
At the epicenter, tremors measured seven on the Richter
scale.
The earthquake registered a magnitude of three to four in
the towns of Kajaran, Meghri and Goris of Syunik Province, magnitude of 3 in
Kapan and Sisian, and two in the town of Yeghegnadzor of Vayots Dzor Province.
