The Mother Armenia alliance, which stood for the Yerevan
Council of Elders elections, will not attend the first session; the election of
the mayor is on the agenda.
“As the opposition forces have not reached a consensus on
the joint mayoral candidate, pursuant to its announcement, the Mother Armenia
alliance will not attend the Council of Elders’ first session scheduled for
Oct. 10.
The alliance calls on the other opposition forces, that won
votes due to their anti-establishment behavior and rhetoric, to boycott the
session as well, thereby excluding the KP re-election in Yerevan and paving the
way for new elections,” reads the statement made by the alliance.
